 Installation Details

Fast clamps are packaged two per box. For best sound reduction, install one on each side of the blower. Position the end of the metal duct pope approximately 1/4" from the end of the blower's vent collar. In order to minimize vibration, the blower collar should not touch the metal duct on either end. Tighten the two adjustment screws until the fan and the duct are securely attached.

Important: The Fast Clamp must also be attached to the blower collar with 3 or 4 equally spaced sheet metal screws and dust tape. Without the additional sheet-metal screws and duct tape, the in-line blower may unintentionally separate from the Fast Clamps. To reduce the possibility of vibration noise, it is best to NOT screw the Fast Clamp to the duct pipe, only to the blower. Placing sheet metal screws through the blower side of the Fast Clamp AND the duct side of the Fast Clamp will create metal-to-metal contact that will transfer vibration noise. The Fast Clamp should be attached to the duct pipe with duct tape only.

Trade-Wind® Fast Clamps are equipped with integral hanging tabs. DO NOT hang blower from these tabs. The tabs are not designed to support the weight of the blower unit. All Trade-Wind® in-line blowers and most other brand in-line blowers are equipped with the necessary support brackets to hold their weight.

*FC Clamps are available from Trade-Wind® (Universal Metal Industries, Inc.) through your Trade-Wind® Supplier. Ask for model numbers FC6 (6"), FC8 (8"), or FC10 (10"), 2 per box.
